With the introduction of the farming profession, a new immersive way to experience the world of Avatar has begun. All vanilla Minecraft crops have been disabled. Don't worry though, you'll still be able to feed yourself plenty with the crops that you grow in our new professions system.
To begin, you should speak to the Farming Master NPC located in your capital city. At these NPCs you can:
You can use our inner-city navigation system (/nav) to find the Farming Master NPCs, but here are their coordinates if you're still having trouble locating them:
The following are required before you are able to grow new crops:
Keep a close eye on your crops! With each crop, there is a chance for insects to infect the plants. This will only affect their growing speed, not their drops. You can prevent your crops from getting infested by using the right fertilizers as soon as you plant them, before they have gone into their first stage of growth. If they are left untended for too long (after they have finished growing), they will begin to rot, which can in turn be used as fertilizer on new crops. However, if crops are harvested too soon, you may only get seeds in return. You can view the growth speed, infestation chance, and time until rotting by hovering over the seeds while in your inventory.
As you farm, you will be rewarded experience for not only this profession, but for your character's bending, and the individual crop as well. Using higher quality ingredients (shown by bronze, silver, and gold stars) will directly translate into a higher quality meal, tea, or snack.
The Crop Probing Tool is a useful instrument that can be purchased from any Farming Master NPC for 500 yuans. As your harvest grows, you can follow its progress by right-clicking on the crops with the Crop Probing Tool. This will show:
Every single crop has its own individual "proficiency level", which you can increase the more that you harvest it. As you increase this level, you will:
Fertilizers are single-use items that can be applied to your crops and provide a variety of buffs/debuffs:
You can buy nearly all fertilizers from the Farming Master NPCs, although some can be acquired through other means such as crafting, trading in items caught while fishing, etc.
