The Legend of Korra Anniversary
The Legend of Korra premiered in the United States with a one-hour television special on April 14, 2012. The special featured the first two episodes of the series: "Welcome to Republic City" and "A Leaf in the Wind." Online viewers were able to catch an earlier showing via Nickelodeon's website on March 24.
Audiences were thrust into the life of Avatar Korra — the successor to the legendary Avatar Aang — and Republic City, the bustling metropolis founded by Aang and Fire Lord Zuko after the conclusion of the Hundred Year War. It was clear from the very beginning that this would be a very different world, and a very different story, than that which we were familiar with.
Raava's Tea Time
Longtime AvatarMC players are familiar with the server's annual Cactus Juice Day tradition that commemorates Avatar: The Last Airbender. What better time than the 10th anniversary of The Legend of Korra premiere to start a new yearly celebration?
In honour of this anniversary, you will be able to brew a special tea using a recipe inspired by Raava! The tea will be unlocked starting at 15:00 UTC on April 14, the moment that American audiences tuned in for the first episode of the new series.
How It Works
For 24 hours, you can follow this Raava's Tea recipe in your brewing stand and get this special glowing tea:

Avatar: The Last Airbender Anniversary
Avatar: The Last Airbender premiered in the United States with a one-hour special on February 21, 2005. The special featured the first two episodes of the series: "The Boy in the Iceberg" and "The Avatar Returns."
Viewers were introduced to siblings Sokka and Katara — who while fishing in the chilly waters near their home in the Southern Water Tribe — discover a young air nomad frozen in an iceberg with his flying bison named Appa.
Cactus Juice Day
To celebrate the series that started it all and inspired us to create this Minecraft server, we at AvatarMC like to partake in a yearly tradition dubbed "Cactus Juice Day."
U.S. audiences got their first glimpse of the Avatar Universe at 7 p.m. EST. This was midnight UTC on February 22 which is why the server has Cactus Juice Day on the 22nd each year.
How it Works
From midnight UTC on February 22 for exactly 24 hours, when you break a cactus block, you have a chance that (alongside the actual item) cactus juice will drop. This will only drop once per time, so you'll want to keep placing and breaking cactus if you're looking to hoard it. Cactus Juice will typically be a potion of Nausea III.

Event: Gaoling Bending Tournament // AvatarMC Discord
Love is in the air, and so is that everlasting fighting spirit! AvatarMC welcomes back its champions to compete once more for the famous Championship Bracelet! Come join and fight!
Like previous months, there will be no Professions items permitted during the tournament.
When will it be?
- The event will take place on Saturday, February 19 at 19:00 UTC. For those who use Google's search engine, this query will find exactly what time this is in your time zone. World Time Buddy is also a helpful resource.
How do I join?
- Please join the Discord and sign up in the Tournament Chat or message a Mod or Chat Mod in-game. You can always sign up at the event, but you may not be paired with someone who best matches your skill level — so sign up as soon as you can!
- NOTE: If you can't make it to the tournament after signing up, please delete your sign up and/or notify a tournament volunteer for day-of cancellations. Failing to do this could result in sanctions.
Am I limited to the bending I chose?
- No! This event will take place off the main server by typing
/server event once the event is open for joining. You will be able to select any bending you wish and change it at any point before the tournament officially starts. The event server will be open 30 minutes before the tournament starts to allow players to have time to pick.
Will there be elytras?
- At the moment, we have decided to not provide elytras for players to use. These can be used to avoid combat completely by airbenders and serve no purpose in combat since they are disabled after taking damage.
Will we be able to eat to heal during the match?
- No. In the past when we've allowed food and healing, matches lasted far longer than anyone felt was enjoyable. Because of that, health restoration from eating will be disabled.
Will there be stats and levels?
- Just like on the main server you will have stat points to allocate typing
/c. You will be automatically set to max level and have all moves available from the moment you select a bending. You can reset your stats throughout the tournament to change your build based on the bender you will be fighting by speaking to the stat spirit near spawn.
Will there be rewards?
- First Place: 250,000¥ + Championship Bracelet
- Second Place: 150,000¥
- Third Place: 75,000¥
- Fourth Place: 50,000¥
- Participation: Everyone who signs up for the tournament and participates in it without missing any matches will receive a participation prize. This will consist of 32 spirit essence and four decorative heads. Winners will receive these as well.
- There will be no raffle this month.
How do I join the Discord?
- You can simply join with this direct invite. Below are instructions to link your AvatarMC account with Discord; however, this is not required!
- First, you need to create an AvatarMC Forum account by performing
/register while on the server. - Once you have the forum account set up, go to discord.avatarmc.com and log in with your forum information. This will link your account to your Discord account.

Various notes on how the event will function:
- The tournament will operate off of a public bracket that will be posted in #event-announcements on Discord, and in chat at the beginning of the tournament.
- For this tournament the brackets will be semi-randomized. Players will be fighting against other players who may not be of similar skill level, but could be disproportionately higher or lower in skill level. Matches can be semi-balanced based on the pairings, but it is no guarantee.
- Players who lose in the semi-final fights will match against each other to determine 3rd and 4th place.
- Time will be set to sunrise, so no advantage can be gained for either waterbenders or firebenders.
- This tournament is not only a way for you to earn free money, but also a way for us to gain balancing opinions on the elements. After the tournament, do not be afraid to share your opinions on the server Discord or on the forums!

The Wonderland
The Wonderland is the main hub of this event, offering plenty to get you in the festive mood. Complete activities located in or around this area to earn snowflakes - you can use these to buy heads and cosmetics from our vendors!

Presents Missing
It's five in the morning, and the parents of this little town have been woken up by their overeager children (who needs alarm clocks anyway?). Disaster strikes, however, with screams reaching decibel levels previously thought impossible. Why, you ask? Their presents have gone missing!
Explore the cave entrance and locate the town's missing presents before we need to call in a doctor over a mass case of tinnitus. Take a complementary pair of earplugs and head on into the Christmas Dungeon!
The Castle
Ascend the stairs to the Castle, and prepare for a boss fight. Defeat its keeper to earn a reward. However, if fighting isn't your thing, you can always try the dropper on for size.
Activities List
- Christmas Tree Parkour - Get to the top of the tree and claim your snowflakes.
- Frosty the Snowman - Parkour up Frosty and earn some snowflakes.
- Snowball Arena - Fight your friends with snowballs in this Free-For-All arena. (Best results for this gamemode are with FoV set to 'Quake Pro')
- Workshop Maze - Head through the twisty maze for a reward. (Optional: Find the children and reunite them with their mom!)
- Snow Maze - Make it to the end for your reward. Ball of string is optional. No minotaurs in this one, we promise. They don't like the cold.
- Castle Dropper - Fall into the water at the bottom without hitting any blocks to win.
- Ice Cave Dropper - Take the ski lift to this dropper, and make sure not to hit any blocks or you won't make it to the bottom.
- Helper Hunt - Gao is setting up an event, and needs his friends! Find him to get started on tracking them down.
- Christmas Dungeon - Enter the cave and track down the town's presents!
- Castle Miniboss - Defeat the keeper of the castle!

Capture the Flag
The Club Penguin extension has been removed (tragic, I know), but you can still play the Capture The Flag mode we introduced with it. Just head on over to the hot air balloon you used to use to access the Club Penguin hub, and it'll take you there for some festive fun.
