Hello! It's BryArchitect bringing you head-topping news this week! Let's dive head in, shall we?
Hats! HATS!
Treat yourself to a fine selection of hats! While most of these will be introduced to the server as donor items, some will soon be found in the dungeons of the Avatar world. They will also be offered during tournaments and other events for those lucky enough to win them! Just remember – you too can look as fancy as a prince with our new stylish hat collection!
Store Raffle
Do you want a chance at getting one of the instruments or hats on display in the store? Thanks to Luxsidus, anyone spending three dollars or more in the store will be entered into a raffle. The winner of this will be able to choose any item from the store as their prize. This will be running weekly through August, with the first draw occurring on the 7th. It will be drawn every Sunday, so the deadline for entering the raffle is midnight GMT on Saturday. If you have your eye on a store item, now's the time to get it!
Kyoshi Island

Traveling around the South Seas? If you're seeing Elephant Koi, this may be why. That's right - Kyoshi Island is here! Stop by the village where the famous statue of Avatar Kyoshi is located. Catch some fish, eat some iced pastries and try to avoid the Unagi if you're planning to surf with the Elephant Koi. As this coincides with the hats release, a limited edition Kyoshi Warrior Headpiece and Fan has been made available - it’ll last a week, so be sure to grab it before it disappears! Onward to Kyoshi Island!
Shiny Bending Focus!
Hey, what's that shiny thing in the distance? Oooh! It's the new bending focus! Our wonderful SxyToad will be adding more bending focuses. They'll be sleeker, shinier and fancier too! Everyone will now bend out there with a stylish new focus.
All this hype got me riled up! See you guys next week! BryArchitect signing out!

Welcome to the 21st Weekly Soon™! Idaho and Evie here with this week’s blog. There’s a fair amount of content to go through, so let’s get straight down to business, shall we?
New Server Store!
This week, we have something a bit different for you. After last week’s wordapalooza, we’re continuing to bring cool new things to our very own little slice of the Avatar world. This week, the server will get its own store! Don’t worry, though. Gameplay elements will never be monetized, and we’re more adamant about this than Iroh is on breathing techniques. Instead, the store will be selling items like hats, wearables, cosmetic weapons (these won’t affect gameplay), and other odds and ends that’ll really trick out your character while you play! To begin with, we’re debuting something that not many other servers have ventured into – Instruments!
The musical heritage of the Avatar world is both extensive and varied, something that is evident in the way that the show’s creators used cultural inspiration in their musical compositions and style. In celebration of this, we’ll be introducing a few of those instruments on the server! To begin with, we are providing five incredible instruments for you to play around with: the Guqin, the Erhu, the Drum, the Flute, and a novelty flute that should look very familiar! Each of these options are availble for purchase now on the server website!
Also debuting with these instruments is a donation option for the server. By donating, you get to say that you’re supporting your favorite server, and your money goes to helping us take care of all the miscellaneous costs of running a server like ours! Keep your eyes on the blog, as we’ll be adding new items all the time, and we’ll make sure you hear about them right here on the Weekly Soon™! For now, head to Avatarmc.buycraft.net to see the available instruments or to donate. Enjoy!
Swimming Changes!
Ever wondered why your player model was still standing upon entering the water, or even worse, still standing while using a move like Dolphin Dive? Well, we did too. That’s why, from now on, if you check out your character in third-person mode they’ll be paddling along just like they’re supposed to be. To activate, simply press the shift key when you are fully submerged in water! This will extend for a few seconds when you breach the surface, meaning that you can pull off some seriously nice-looking stunts like jumping through hoops and doing flips. Be warned though, Elytra cannot be worn while swimming, so make sure to take yours off before hopping in the water!
Combat Health Regen!
War never changes. Except when it does! We’re introducing a new player state to the server. When in combat (specifically when hit by another player), health regen for the attacker will stop for ten seconds before continuing, even at full hunger! This enhances the PvP aspect of bending, and it enables you to fight quicker and more skill-based battles. This should certainly make wars more exciting! It should also increase the viability of healing moves in fighting, allowing for more diversity on the battlefield (looking at you, waterbenders!).
Player of the Month!
Our Player of the Month contest for the month of July has ended! Thanks to all those who submitted to us their pick for this honor! This month was have quite a list of players to choose from, so you know our decision is going to be a hard one. Still, as we do that, we are now starting the August contest! If you have a nomination for Player of the Month, please message IdahoSciGuy in game, or send a nifty little email to writing
avatarmc .com with your pick! Remember, Chat Mods, Moderators, Team Leaders, and Admins are ineligible, so choose wisely!
Apply for Communication Team!
Do you have a love of writing? Can you spin a web of tales that’ll keep audiences at the edge of their seats, wanting more? If so, our very own Communication Team wants to talk to you! We are currently raising our banners and looking for budding writers to help in giving the community exciting information and content! If interested, head on over to https://www.avatarmc.com/apply/writing for any extra information you might need, and to submit an application!
Bug Fix
We did a TON of bug fixes last week, and to save their sanity we had our fixer monkeys take a break for a bit to rest. Still, they managed to pump out a fix here for your perusal:
- Sampling of block type has been fixed for Earthbenders, specifically on Earth Blast and Boulder Toss.
- Fixed EarthShockwave destruction.
That’s it for this week! Stay tuned for the next Weekly Soon™! On a side note, be sure to check out the event announcement on the Front Page!

Cheers reverberate through the stadium, spectators watching each match with great interest. Fighters gear up, spurred on by bloodlust and the noise, which only seems to be getting louder by the minute.
Come one, come all! Come test your mettle against the server’s premier fighters! Do you have what it takes to battle through the brackets and win first prize?
The AvatarMC Bending Tournament

The first round of this event will take place on Saturday the 30th of July at 6PM UTC, and will extend an extra day if necessary, starting at the same time. The final round(s) of this event will take place on Saturday the 6th of August at 6PM UTC. It will take place on the AvatarMC Event server, which can be accessed by typing /server event on lobby.
Participants will endure a number of duels against opponents of the same element in a single elimination bracket, which will be created randomly after the registration deadline. You will be able to enter the tournament until midnight UTC on Friday the 29th of July. If you wish to enter, please message an admin or a member of the event team such as EvieAscendant or TheShaqtus – make sure to include which element you will be using if you have an alt account. Please note that you will only be allowed to enter with the element that you use on the lobby server. If you are in possession of multiple accounts then you are allowed a choice in elements based on the ones you have picked already. In addition, you will only be able to enter once, so choose wisely!
Thank you for reading and be sure to check out our blog post for even more news regarding our new store with super fancy musical instruments, some awesome changes on our server and applications for comms team!

Greetings and salutations, readers! Evie and Idaho are here for this week’s post, trying to forget all the writing they made us do. While we’re nursing our bleeding fingers, you may want to buckle up - this blog post will be one hell of a ride!
New Feature: Dungeons!
Ladies and Gentlemen, the time has come! We are extremely proud to introduce DUNGEONS!!! We have been hard at work designing these, and we can't wait to see you and your friends attempt these challenging trials! With this update, we are premiering 2 dungeons that vary in difficulty, but offer a lot of fun and great rewards.
Cave of Frozen Blood
Firebenders beware. The granddaughter of Hama stalks her prey in the wastes of ice and snow. The authorities have decided to offer a reward to any who dare brave the elements and the scion of the bloodbending terror. Help bring her tyranny to an end so that the dead may rest at last.
This dungeon is located on the plateau surrounding the Northern Water Tribe. To access it, follow the road up the cliff from the spirit oasis. This dungeon is not very difficult, so it can be done with parties of two or three players. As each set of mobs dies, you will be able to advance further into the dungeon. Don’t wait too long, or you may need to fight the same monsters again! Also, there are checkpoints throughout the dungeon, in case of accidental death while playing. Make sure that you bring a lot of food, as you’re going to need it!
Assault on the Kazan Triad
So, listen. I’ve got an offer for you. One of those greedy types has broken away from the Agni Kai Triad, and another player on the board is bad for business, you get me? The name’s Yogan, and his little private army is called the Kazan Triad. As they say, scratch our backs and we’ll scratch yours. Take this guy out for us, and you’ll get your hands on a reward once this is done.
The entrance to this dungeon is located within the Fire Nation Capital. To access it, find the corresponding gate within the Capital. This dungeon is very difficult, so parties upwards of four people are recommended. Make sure to kill every mob in a room before trying to proceed! This dungeon all but requires a waterbender in your party due to the sheer amount of healing power you will need. As with before, you’ll need food - and lots of it.
Rework of the Bending System!
Alongside the dungeons, our Bending Design team has been hard at work analyzing all of the moves we have, and implementing changes that make each move not only much easier to use but much more polished. One of the most impressive changes rests with Boulder Toss, an Earthbending move that introduces siege mechanics at their highest level. The Comm team is also updating all the bending tooltips on the server to make sure they are all as accurate as can be! Many other moves have received updates, buffs, and other amazing features, so make sure to log on and test out your bending!
Now, there will definitely be some kinks to work out, and you may notice some of these moves might not fuction like they should be. Don't worry! This is common with large updates! We'll be tweaking things as the week goes on; these values are NOT final. Please make sure to send any feedback to have to Sxytoad in game!
IMPORTANT REMINDER: In order to fully utilize the new rework of the bending server, you must have the resource pack! If this isn’t installed, you won’t be able to get the most out of your bending! This pack normally autodownloads upon logging into the server, but if that does not work, please visit our resource pack page at https://www.avatarmc.com/help/rp to download and add it manually!
Upcoming Reworks
Although we have been working nonstop, there is still a lot we are hoping to do! Not all moves were able to get a reworking this time around, but don’t fear! They're coming very soon. Here is a list of moves that still need to be reworked:
- Flame Blast
- Air Twister
- Air Bolt
- Air Armor
- Ice Cage
- Water Healing
- Water Area Heal
- Water Armor
- Earth Cage
- Ground Breaker
- Earth Shatter
Tea Leaf Cost Adjustment
Along with updating the bending system, we took a step back and looked at the tea leaf system we have currently. What we've noticed is that many players are receiving more tea leaves per day, thanks to the hellish creations fantastic mazes crafted by Bwake and his maze minion Jtox. On top of that, those tea leaves are left in the world, so that everyone may get them at any time. To help balance this out, we have increased the tea leaf cost of the reworked moves to better represent their worth and use in battle. Here is how the new Tea Leaf Structure will look for all reworked moves from now on:
- Level 1-2: 1 tea leaf
- Level 3-4: 2 tea leaves
- Level 5: 3 tea leaves
These updates are now live on the server. However, the changes do not apply to all moves. This will also not be applied retroactively, meaning that all your hard-bought moves are safe. Some moves, however, will not be affected by the tea leaf update at all. Here is a list of those moves:
- Fire Torch
- Fire Dodge
- Air Dodge
- Water Dodge
- Earth Dodge
New Bending Pages!
As if everything before this wasn’t enough, we of the Communications Team have worked day and night to compile a list of bending moves alongside their damage values and instructions on how to use them. Bear in mind that the pages are still very much a work in progress, so if you notice that a move is missing, feel free to let us know! Each element’s moves have been written by a member of the team with the corresponding element.
Upcoming Moves!
On top of everything previously mentioned, we have also been developing new moves that will debut on the server very soon! We don't want to spoil too much, but we can tell you two moves that are going to be released; Hailstorm for Waterbending and Seismic Sense for Earthbending! Stay tuned for more information as we get closer to release!
Player of the Month!
We are still accepting nominations for July’s Player of the Month contest! While we already have some nominations, we can never have enough! Please make sure to either message an admin or IdahoSciGuy in game, or email us at writing
avatarmc .com to submit your nomination for Player of the Month! Remember, only players who are not Admins, Chat Mods, Moderators, or Team Leaders can be nominated for Player of the Month!
Upcoming Event!
We also have some exciting news on the event front! Our event team has been hard at work constructing one of the most impressive builds this comm person has seen in a while, and it'll be the site for an exciting event that will be announced here within the next few days! Get ready to warm up your bending foci, it's gonna be a doozy!
Bug Fixes
Our coders have cracked the whip and gotten some of those pesky bugs squashed.
- Fire Dodge should no longer kill you as easily, meaning that firebenders won’t turn into a portable barbeque while trying to escape the battlefield!
- Earth Catapult and Dolphin Dive should now work in the canon cities, meaning that earthbenders and waterbenders can finally forgo walking almost as easily as airbenders and firebenders!
Well roast my potatoes and call me a casserole, that was one hell of an update! The communication team will be in a coma until next week. Until then, this is Evie and Idaho, signing off!
